Is this a real license plate?
Literally, yes it's a real metal aluminum plate.
However, this is a decorative plate, not a state-issued registration plate. People use them on the front of the vehicle, on a wall or in a garage, or as shop and business signage. Some states require an official front plate, so check your state's rules before mounting one on your car.
Will the custom license plate look exactly like the preview?
The layout, sizing, and placement will match the preview exactly, since we print the file you build. Color can shift very slightly because screens emit light and ink does not, so bright neons and deep blacks can read a little differently in hand. If a precise color match matters for a brand or a logo, message us before you order.
What resolution does my image need to be?
Upload the largest file you have. A 6x12 plate prints at roughly 1800 x 3600 pixels, so anything smaller than about 1000 pixels wide will start to look soft. Photos straight from your phone or camera are usually fine. Images saved from Instagram, Facebook, a thumbnail sized photo are usually not.
Will your custom license plate fade in the sun?
Dye sublimation infuses the ink into the coating rather than sitting on top of it, so it holds up far better than a printed sticker or vinyl wrap. For a plate mounted on a vehicle, we recommend the UV protected option, which adds a clear coat for extra fade resistance. Any printed product will fade eventually under constant direct sun, and the UV coating buys you significantly more time.
Can you design it my custom license plate?
Yes. Message us before you order with what you have in mind and we will put something together. This also covers cleaning up a logo, removing a background, or fixing a file that is too small to print well. There is no extra charge for reasonable design work.
Can I change my design after I order?
Message us as soon as possible. If your plate has not gone to press yet we can usually swap the file with no issue. Once it is printed we cannot change it, since every plate is made for one customer.
How long until the custom license plate ships?
Most orders ship within 1-3 business days. Shipping then takes 3-5 business days depending on where you are. Orders over $35 ship free within the US. Expedited options are available.
Custom License Plates
Our custom license plates are made in the USA from premium .025" rust-proof aluminum with rounded corners and pre-drilled slotted mounting holes. The standard 6"x12" size is the same size as a factory car plate, so it fits every U.S. front bumper bracket, truck, Jeep, golf cart, and trailer, and mounts up in seconds with the hardware you already have.
Our dye sublimation printing embeds the ink directly into the coated surface of the plate instead of layering it on top, so your design will not peel, crack, or flake off in a car wash, and the full-bleed print covers the plate edge to edge. Warm water and mild soap keep it looking as sharp as the day it arrived. Choose the UV protection that matches how you plan to use your plate: indoor protection for plates that hang on a wall, a shelf, or a garage display, or outdoor protection built to hold its color through sun, rain, and road salt on a daily driver.
